Welcome to Tejas Pony Club
Tejas Pony Club is a local chapter of the United States Pony Clubs (USPC). Started in 1954, USPC now has over 600 clubs and 10,000 members in the United States. The Pony Club program is designed to develop character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports. USPC is unique because its educational programs place equal emphasis on the teaching of riding skills, horse-care fundamentals, and team participation with sportsmanship. Internationally, Pony Club is represented in 27 countries with more than 125,000 members.

Based out of North West Houston area, Tejas Pony Club has been serving youth (up to 25 years old) from all around Houston for over 20 years. We offer monthly meetings covering both riding and horse management skills. Our meetings are structured to complement a regular riding/training program, exposing our members to a wide range of professional instructors, horse sports and horsemanship. Members may pursue our Traditional curriculum (both flat and jump work, in and out of the arena), or specialize in Dressage or Hunt Seat Equitation. Throughout the year, we offer opportunities for members to demonstrate their new skills to achieve standardized certification levels developed by USPC.

All Pony Clubs are volunteer-based organizations. We depend on our members (present and past!), parents, grandparents and local horsemen and women to generously donate their time and skills. We offer many ways to get involved, from assisting in the running of the club, fundraising, hospitality at meetings, or helping out at Pony Club shows and events. It truly is a wonderful way to share your child's passion and growing confidence!
